A Specialist Durability Test Engineer with Component/System Test Rigs experience is required across several major vehicle developments within a market leading design/manufacture of high end luxury/SUV/off-road vehicles based in the West Midlands
This role is part of an exciting new expansion of the team to meet increasing demands with the launch of future models.

You will have knowledge and experience with:

-Practical experience of working in rig test environment, exp. of electro-hydraulic test rig operation and running/managing test programmes.
-Experience of electro-hydraulic test rig design/build/operation.
-Experience of working in structural / rig test environment for OEM, other vehicle or contract test provider
-Proven history of sample assessment/investigation after test and report writing.
-Ability to develop methods and document work effectively.
-Ability to liaise with design engineers, test engineers and fitters to support development of test rigs.
-Ability to manage / schedule workload and deliver in a timely manner.

Experience Preferred:
-Good knowledge of motor vehicle systems, road load data analysis, measurement transducers such as accelerometers, load cells, etc.
-Experience of RPC and/or drive signal generation would be advantageous.

Additional Information:
Please note that the successful candidate may be expected to work on a two shift basis (6am-2pm and 1.30pm-9.30pm).

You will have knowledge and experience with,

-Leading Materials Engineering composites activities on Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and European Agency funded projects.
-Development of standards and materials requirements for composite materials.
-Working with engineering teams to support the introduction of composite materials.
-Liaising with suppliers and materials engineering to validate composite materials solutions.

Skills Required:
-Experience of Composites design, specification and manufacture required in either Academic or Commercial environment.
-A high level of technical knowledge of Composite materials, processes and testing.
-A high level of supplier management skills High level of communication skills, both written and verbal High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
-Organisational and Project Management skills.
-Candidates will ideally be educated to degree level

-Full training will be given on Client OEM systems.

The position will be based in the West Midlands.

Positions description:
The Prototype Engineering CAD / Clash Detection Engineer is responsible for the co-ordination of Model 1 data and the subsequent clash detection. The responsibilities of the Prototype Engineering CAD / Clash Detection Engineer are:

1 Collate Model 1 CAD data
2 Create Model 1 virtual plan indicating milestones
3 Validate the collated data is representative of the components to be procured
4 Clash detect any change in the geometry
5. Support BOM Validation.

Experience / education required:

-CATIA V5 / TCE experience.
-Automotive experience required
-Degree or relevant automotive experience.
