A Battery and Power Electronics Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Description
Position Description:
Manage the development of the Battery and Power Electronics Support Structures for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).

Job Requirements
Key tasks are:
•Develop component development plan for the support structures
•Requirements definition, including capturing cascaded Vehicle and System level requirements
•Supplier evaluation and selection
•Develop component to meet quality targets using tools such as including boundary diagram, FMEA, quality history reviews, robustness checklist
•Lead CAE Engineers to assess the components strength and durability
•Lead CAD Engineers and Packaging Engineers, to develop mechanical design of support structures and package them on vehicles with agreement from all stake holders
•Develop and agree manufacturing and service strategies with Manufacturing and Service Engineers
•Manage component and investment cost targets
•Manage suppliers component delivery to support vehicle builds
•Develop Design Verification Plan (DVP) and conduct Design Verification testing according to programme timing
•Report out status to Project Leaders

Details

Experience Required:
Project management. Mechanical design experience essential.

Experience Preferred:
OEM or automotive development systems such as GPDS.

Education Required:
HND level qualification or above.
