A Battery PMST Systems Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Warwickshire.
Description
Lead a project team in the definition of battery requirements by capturing and agreeing cascaded requirements from the industry, vehicle attributes and systems teams. Manage the tier 1 supplier partner in the development of the xEV battery system according to programme technical, cost and timing targets. Develop a commodity development plan of the xEV battery system. Lead the completion of quality documentations, including boundary diagram, FMEA, P diagrams, quality history reviews, robustness checklist. Lead the completion of hazard analysis and functional safety analysis. Manage and develop the battery package that balances the cost and vehicle attributes targets. Support the development of battery standards and design verification methods (DVMs).
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Strong appreciation of vehicle systems and architectures. Proven track record of leading an engineering team, working in a multi functional environment to meet project targets and milestones. Experience in component engineering for automotive application with electrical/electronics background. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues within a Project Team environment. Experience in applying quality and robustness tools such as boundary diagram, FMEA, P diagrams, quality history reviews, robustness checklist in component development. Proven project management track record of complex systems/components. Supplier Management experience - manage suppliers` delivery to meet technical, timing and cost targets. Problem investigation and problem solving. Confident communicator and leader. Strong organisational skills. A high level of diligence and personal integrity. Sound Judgement.
Skills Preferred:
DOORs experience advantageous but not essential.
Details
Experience Required:
Proven track record of leading a team in development of complex electrical/electronics systems or component.
Experience Preferred:
Experience in delivery to GTDS and/or GPDS processes. Experience with WERS process. xEV component development experience.
Education Required:
Degree level qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic engineering or closely related subject.
Education Preferred: Post graduate degree desirable, but not essential.
