World class, tier 1 automotive supplier, at the forefront of automotive technology, is seeking two software system engineers – one at senior (deputy to team leader) and one junior level.  The skill sets are the same but obviously will vary by leadership ability and experience

Working on electric steering systems, this role covers the interaction between software and hardware (in this case vehicle sensors, the steering hardware and the control algorithms in the ECU).  As such you will possess a broad understanding of electronics, software and controls engineering perhaps gained in a systems or control validation role within the aero, auto, defence or rail industries.

 

What you’ll do

As a software systems engineer, you will model software and develop the functionality of vehicle sensors, how they work and how they interface with software.  You will

 

  • Be involved with all aspects of the function development, testing and release of systems software within the organisation and with customers
  • Translate customer specification into software and control requirement documents for further implementation by the software team
  • Work with the control teams to develop, simulate, prototype and evaluate new algorithms
  • Work with software developers to ensure all software deliverables meet required standards
  • Provide integration support and test on bench, rig and on vehicle

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Degree in electrical, electronic , controls or software engineering
  • Matlab, Simulink plus (ideally) SPICE or dSpace
  • Knowledge of Vehicle CAN bus and its structure eg CANALYZER, CANAPE or similar

  • Proactive approach to Hazard analysis, hazard testing, FMEA, FTA.
  • Technical leadership for safety standards and analyses including checking the work of others
  • Act on the results of any analysis or validation tests to ensure the safety of the product is not compromised
  • Develop a reliability analysis, advise on statistical techniques and reliability estimates

  • Degree in electrical, electronic  or software engineering
  • Familiarity of ISO 26262 or IEC 61508

Distribution Shift Manager – Sutton Coldfield - £21.00-£23.00p/h – Initial 6 month contract

A Distribution Shift Manager with a solid background in managing a large distribution team and its day to day activities
is required to join a market leading food & drink company.

You must have experience with:

  • Managing the daily workforce to achieve workload requirements as defined by the business
  • Experience of achieving the above at the lowest effective cost whilst meeting corporate objectives for health and safety, quality, environment and business principles
  • Working on a rotating shift pattern
  • Responsibility for 20+ employees and managing the performance of the individuals through monitoring against definitive KPIs, conducting of monthly 1-2-1s and regular coaching
