Skills Preferred:

Our client is a major automotive manufacturer of car bodies, truck cabs and other automotive products.
Responsible for developing the Low Volume Production Unit to become a best-in-class supplier of pressings and assemblies to a variety of low to medium volume customers. This covers all aspects including Production, Supply Chain, Quality, HR etc. The initial task will be to complete the transition from a large manufacturing facility to a smaller one and it s integration with the Prototype/Engineering functions on the Coventry site.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Take the lead responsibility within the production areas/teams for Health and Safety activities.
Ensure product manufacture to customer standards for quality, cost and delivery.
To develop the local team to support the necessary production and support activities appropriate to the remaining business.
Monthly reporting of relevant KPI s to group management.
Control and review of site budgets and expenditure and achievement of financial targets.
Work closely with the Prototype function to ensure appropriate planning of work through the shared production equipment.
Establish improved communications, including use of Team Briefings.
Management of the site buildings and facilities.
Ensure quality, environmental, health and safety standards are implemented and audited within the Production unit in line with Company procedures.
Characteristics and Requirements
Must have significant and demonstrable exposure to a low to medium volume manufacturing environment, including first tier supply to the automotive industry.
Financial awareness is essential, including experience of setting and controlling budgets and justifying capital expenditure.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, are essential.
Experience of developing staff and building effective teams.
Direct experience of ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001.
