- Providing discipline-specific technical leadership for a team of Civil Engineers, understanding the capabilities and limitations of individuals, and allocating work appropriately. Set clear standards and expectations, providing feedback to individuals about performance. Instigate both formal and informal development programmes to enable all Engineers to contribute to their full potential, engaging with home partner development programmes where possible and monitoring progress.
- Ensuring that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications. Ensure that the requirements of Minimum Asset Standards (MAS) are understood and adhered to. Engage with the MAS team to challenge and develop MAS and drive design consistency.
- Continuously strive to improve ways of working and promote innovation. Identify opportunities that may facilitate cost savings, carbon reductions or other efficiencies to the PADM/PAM.

Experience / education required:

  • Should have a good working knowledge of chassis systems and a good understanding of suspension KandC characteristics.
  • Good mathematical skills backed by a sound understanding of engineering principles and the ability to initiate and deliver technique and process improvements when required.
  • Expert user of MBS code (either ADAMS or Simpack) to deliver the system level targets.
  • Proficient user of primarily ADAMS or Simpack software- within an automotive setting and experience of incorporating flexible bodies into MBS models.

- Perform detailed inspections and measurements of first-off and production samples and complete documentation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of geometrical tolerances.

- Previous inspection experience within a low volume high value precision engineering manufacturing environment ie Aerospace, motorsport or defence (not automotive).

- Capable of using standard inspection equipment and able to read engineering drawings.
- Craft Apprenticeship and/or Mechanical NVQ.

Desirable in addition to the above

You will possess a keen attention to detail with the associated handling equipment and more general process tooling such as machining fixtures and smaller component detail tooling. The tooling will integrate features such as moving parts, splits and heating elements, in addition the tooling may also have a requirement to integrate with automated processes such as automatic deposition or robotic assembly.

You will need to:

  • Have previous experience of tool design,development and construction from within aerospace
  • Show an in depth knowledge of the use of CATIA V5 for both 3-D modelling using various work benches such as assembly design, part design, generative shape design (surfacing) and the 2d package of Draft and its application when applied to tool design
  • Have a working knowledge of geometrical tolerance and effects of thermal expansion is essential
  • Have experience of supporting tools through their manufacture (on or off site) through to the final commissioning phase

A Deputy Team Leader with a background in understanding in pressure boilers or steam turbine processes is required for a market leading Energy company based in Dudley. Contributing and working with the Team Leader you will be monitoring the operation of the boilers and turbines for the generation of steam within the plant.

As Deputy Team Leader you will be responsible for working with a small team of up to 7 staff managing and monitoring all functions associated with the operation of plant turbine, boilers and co-ordination of incoming and outgoing waste.

You will be responsible for the following:
- To accurately anticipate for mishaps and maintain control of the above by regular observation of the Direct Control System (DCS) to check temperature flow, pressure readings from the turbine/boiler, readings from control systems, gauges, and alarms.
- Accurately report readings and note daily operations in the shift log for continued monitoring and shift changeovers, as well as reporting on readings from any night shift work, and report on daily emissions.
- Monitoring all areas of the plant from the control room. This includes, operating the overhead crane for the systematic removal of waste, and accessing all areas of the plant (from height to ground levels) to check instruments, gauges, and to take readings and take actions as required.

This role would be working a continental shift pattern of 4 days on (2 x days/2 x nights - 12 hour shifts) 4 days off with a basic salary of £27,400pa plus overtime.

You will be experienced with Process procedures within a high pressure boiler or steam turbine environment and an FLT or FLS Licence would be viewed advantageously.
