Our client is currently seeking an experienced Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager for a global role within one of its
successful Automotive Business Units.
This is an exciting strategic role, defining and implementing Lean and CI improvements and processes throughout the business and will be
reporting to the Operations Director for the company.
Main Purpose of Role
Full responsibility for initiating and completing major projects, Kaizens and key actions linked to strategic initiatives through the
use of Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology based upon the companies Lean Philosophy through the 14
steps.
Works with senior leadership, general managers, business managers, and plant staff, to ensure the Lean Six Sigma program is deployed
effectively.
Responsible for helping the business develop and maintain Lean Six Sigma methodologies in day to day operations. Facilitates
process improvement teams and provides training, counsel and development of and assistance to Lean Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts as well as Lean Managers and team leaders with respect to facilitation techniques, quality
systems, continual improvement, and cost reduction.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain Lean Six Sigma tools throughout the plants’ operations and other support areas.
Assist business area leadership in the planning development, coordination, support, and execution of high impact (immediate and long term)
improvement plans for effective and sustainable cost saving initiatives while making sure the Lean Six Sigma initiatives are aligned with customer focused metrics. Develops project charters with Champion and local leadership support.
Work with financial representatives across the business to validate Lean six sigma project justification and success.
In addition to frequent verbal reports, submit weekly and/or monthly written reports as required.
Initiate/participate in self-development and training others. Train and mentor Black Belts and Green Belt Practitioners were
needed based on resource needs.
Change agent or thought leader that leads initiatives that will enable the organization to reach the next level of world class operations
by implementing Lean Six Sigma practices throughout the manufacturing organization.
Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
Requirements
Extensive experience, knowledge and application of Lean principles.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
BS degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
Project management qualification or relevant experience
Strong presentation skills
Good working knowledge PC software, including MS Office (+Visio), Six Sigma/statistical software such as Minitab/JMP etc.
Significant travel will be required to perform the objectives and end results of this function.
