A new ongoing contract opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Software Engineer/Developer to provide technical software engineering design, development and test for embedded electronic control systems for diesel engines and earthmoving machines designed in Europe.

Based in Peterborough, this may include feature development and integration of software for various systems such as engine, transmission, drivetrain, braking, steering, implement, operator interfaces, and monitoring systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Design, develop, integrate and test software features for engine and machine applications
- Develop and implement control system algorithms
- Review and provide feedback of system and software requirements
- Participate in the development and completion of validation plans
- Participate in Failure Mode Effects Analysis and manage coordinated development, test and deliver integrated Machine Electrical and Electronics Systems
- Execute development activities to a Software Release Schedule for all stakeholders.
- Deliver software maintenance releases for quality improvements and added customer value
- Identify and resolve new and current product software development issues
- Initiative that is required in this role includes:
o Organize self and activities to deliver on time.
o Provide feedback to System Engineers on design ideas and implementation method

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


- BSc in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Software) or other equivalent qualifications
- Experience in embedded software development for controls systems of engines and/or machines
- Experience with complex systems (e.g. mobile industrial machines, military vehicles, agricultural tractors, heavy-duty trucks) with electronic control systems and hydraulic systems
- Experience with problem solving of electrical and electronic systems
- Experience interfacing with clients and suppliers
- Experience with defining system requirements

- Delivery of FE model results quickly with minimal supervision.
- Able to produce high quality LS-Dyna FE models with little re-work.
