A Catalytic Chemistry / Catalysis Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon.

Description
Position Description:
Support Diesel Emissions Aftertreatment Team in delivery of vehicle programmes.

Job Requirements
Creation of project plans from Aftertreatment Generic, reflecting scope and ensure integration with Calibration, Exhaust and Certification plans. Development of targets documentation. Manage parts supply from suppliers / exhausts according to agreed plan (on behalf of Aftertreatment, Calibration and Development Teams). Manage instrumentation of aftertreatment systems, including stock of specialist thermocouples and sampling probes. Collation of gateway deliverables input for Aftertreatment. Collation of project evidence books. Assist in updating quality documentation. Failure Mode Avoidance. Proactively support the development diesel emissions aftertreatment systems. Undertake functional testing of components using vehicles and engines, and computer simulation of performance to develop diesel emissions aftertreatment systems. Lead and collaborate with suppliers, research groups and consultants in the development of new bench test procedures and analytical / simulation tools for aftertreatment hardware in-line with GPDS principles. Support the ongoing aftertreatment strategy development, specifically for aftertreatment substrates.

Details
Skills Required:
Proven project management / PMST capabilities. Working knowledge of diesel engine emissions aftertreatment systems and calibration. Proven knowledge on emissions testing of EU4/5/6 diesel engines and vehicles, including uSCR & cDPF systems. Working knowledge on use of MS Excel, Word, Project, Access and Matlab.

Skills Preferred:
Core engineering experience, with the ability to evaluate problems and propose resolutions. Working knowledge of OEM project delivery process- FPDS, GPDS. Working knowledge of OEM quality tools- EFDVS, DFMEA, APQP and DVP. Working knowledge of OEM change management processes- AIMS, WERS, PNR/PACN, PMST support. Any person supplied should have a valid UK driving licence and meet the medical requirements of testing in OEM test facilities.

Education Required:
Relevant degree level qualification such as chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering.

Education Preferred:
Relevant higher degree. Relevant professional qualifications.
