As a Cost Estimator or Cost Engineer, you’ll focus on a specific vehicle commodity - from Exterior to Interior, through Power Train, Chassis, and Electrical. You’ll be responsible for:

• Delivering ‘should cost’ estimates for a specific sub-set of parts.
• Supporting the Purchase team in their negotiations with suppliers.
• Working closely with Design Engineers as a business advisor.
• Identifying and supporting the implementation of opportunities to reduce costs.
• Influencing relevant programmes and commodity directions.
• Supporting cross-functional, cross-brand and supplier charge outs.

If you already have relevant professional experience, you could join us as a Cost Engineering Manager, or in another senior or project-based role. Providing more than hands-on technical support, you’ll be accountable for:

You will be responsible for the identification and implementation of appropriate cost down initiatives and/or efficiency savings which minimise spoilage and waste, you will ensure prompt and comprehensive root cause analysis of the reasons for any production downtime with recommendations for actions to prevent further recurrence, ensure compliance with relevant HandS legislations, policies and procedures and promote correct use of PPE in order to eliminate or reduce risks to health and well-being for staff and visitors to the site. You will also support the development and implementation of appropriate quality control and inspection mechanisms to ensure compliance with required standards with particular focus on meeting and exceeding right first time targets and undertake ongoing monitoring to identify further areas for improvement.
