Engineering Planner
Gillingham, Kent, England
A world leader in the innovation, design
and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for an
Engineering Planner to be accountable for the administrative activities
required to co-ordinate multiple engineering projects to aid the management
team to better organise the department.
In addition the Engineering Planner will
also be responsible for collating and preparing customer specifications for new
business quotes to aid the Chief Engineer to make sound product definitions.
The role’s main duties will be drawn from
the following:
•Overall responsibility of the DFP Planning
tool.
•Develop and implement the Global project
plan.
•Conduct regular planning meetings with
functional managers and ensure all timing updates are recorded within the
Global Plan.
•Owner of the DFP Master Task list.
Requires regular updates with support from all functional managers. The Task
list aims to focus management attention on top priority projects.
•Link the rig resource planning tool to the
Global planning tool to ensure 100% rig usage.
•Encourage a forward planning culture
within the team to aid the pump team to deliver flawless project launches to
meet the committed objectives and flawless launch metrics
•Implement a data management tool to
structure all major tasks within the engineering team using the Delphi PDP
process to assure the project meets both customer & business objectives for
cost, quality, delivery & performance.
•Create RASIC – highlight the process flow
between depts. Implement RASIC
through department.
•Implement generic test requests and procedures.
•Implement generic Risk Management tool.
•Attend relevant product offering meetings,
collate and prepare all key customer specifications for new business quotes.
Review potential product offerings with the Chief engineer and aid good
selection to meet customer
•Be positive, encourage, coach & share
knowledge with all CR pump cross functional teams
•Communicate effectively, develop &
conduct regular presentations to management on progress of the planning
activities.
•Prepare minutes/action plans following
meetings to ensure all parties are appraised of progress at all times
•To observe and practice all applicable
company policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Ideally the Engineering Planner will hold a
degree in Business Administration/Engineering with project management
experience and proven experience with working on multi-projects up to 3-4 at a
time.
The successful applicant will have
excellent communications skills be very well organised and self-disciplined.
Must be a team player.
