Main Duties

The machinery in question is a 5 axis cylindrical grinder. You must have Landis grinding knowledge and the ability to use CAM also; the finished products are measured using an Adcole measuring machine. The role requires you to be apprentice trained or educated to NVQ Level 3 standards with proven Grinding experience as it's a role that will begin straight away. This role will appeal to an Engineer who is hands-on, practical and with a proven background within Systems Engineering with experience in requirements capture in the delivery of hybrid vehicle systems or electromagnetic products for automotive customers. The main tasks will include the delivery of lithium-ion battery technologies into electric and hybrid vehicles for OEMs.

The role has responsibility for the commissioning of complex electrical systems. Developing commissioning test documents and ensuring vehicles and rigs are delivered according to project timing. Support with fault finding electrical issues on fleet vehicles. Liaising with OEM customer Hybrid Controls Team to determine systems requirements. Producing systems architecture and functional specifications. Identifying performance targets. Liaising with OEM Electrical Distribution Systems Team in developing harness requirements. Liaising with OEM Hybrid Controls Team to determine controls interfaces and developing signal database files to support. Some travel in the UK and Mainland Europe will be necessary.
