We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a 12-month contract based in Stafford.
As Quality Engineer, you will report into the Stafford Quality Supervisor and will play a critical element of the core quality engineering support and delivery team. Responsible for quality approvals following APQP framework during process ramp-up, operator training and order to delivery systems development, working closely with the UK and India teams and providing technical and project support to the design and process installations for our new facility build in India.
Working as part of a team you will be expected to maintain and improve the performance of the production processes in line with ISO9001 requirements during production ramp up.
The Quality Team will be responsible for process validation and sign off of large component machining, engine assembly, engine hot test and paint and finishing processes. The Quality Engineer function is a core area of the business and expectations of the team delivery are high, including developing strong relationships to the Quality Support Function in the UK and India. This is a chance to be part of a new team and have a real impact on order to delivery process design, and installation, through into production support. This is an opportunity for a professional engineer with demonstrated technical and practical skills with previously strong team working and project management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Strong communication, process adherence and team working skills
* Sound written and Spoken English.
* Ability to travel globally at short notice
* Technical experience within a heavy Industrial Manufacturing /Automotive Environment
* Quality / Manufacturing Engineering background
* Specific experience and working knowledge of quality management principles - Understanding of APQP and PPAP principles with demonstrated improvements
* ISO9001 and/or TS16949 knowledge.
* Sound PC Literacy
* Some prior demonstrated project delivery in a Quality / Manufacturing Engineering function coupled with leadership experience in the Quality arena or another function
