With this move, Valeo becomes the first automotive supplier to offer its customers a range of electric superchargers. Unlike exhaust-driven turbochargers, electric superchargers are driven by an electric motor. Lastly, when coupled with a Valeo energy recovery system, electric superchargers can be used to create a cost-competitive micro-hybrid solution that can deliver fuel savings of up to 20% in the standard European driving cycle.
They are seeking a Design Validation Test Engineer to undertake the following:


Key responsibilities:
- Enhancement and rationalization of existing electric supercharger Design Verification Plan (DVP) to Valeo standards
- Overall management and execution of DVP utilizing both existing internal facilities, new internal facilities and externally managed facilities.
- Development of key life durability tests to match different customer requirements
- Development and execution of vehicle-based durability testing/mileage accumulation
- Development and execution of bespoke tests to support ongoing engineering activities
- Delivery of written test reports and test procedures
- Analysis and summary of test results

Skill sets required:
- Significant experience of Design Validation testing in the automotive sector, preferably in the powertrain/underhood area
- Self motivated and dynamic with good analytical and problem solving qualities, able to work unassisted
- Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach suitable to working within a small team
- Adept at fault finding within complex test benches
- Familiarity with ISO and DIN standards for automotive DV testing and preferably with familiarity of different OEM standards
- Project management of complex test plan with multiple test locations and providers, experience with MS Project preferable
- Availability and willingness to travel to support testing (UK and France)
- Working knowledge of CCP compliant calibration tools (e.g. ATI Vision)
- Working knowledge of National Instruments LabView hardware and software for test control and measurement
- Experience of NVH and/or vibration measurement or condition monitoring would be considered beneficial
- Working knowledge of automotive Quality standards and requirements, ISO 9001 ,TS 16949 and ISO 14001 
 
Minimum requirements:
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject, candidates will have automotive industry experience together with demonstrable knowledge of Design Validation Testing.

The Process Engineer is required to develop a broad range of processes relating to the manufacture of custom charge coupled devices (CCDs) for high end Space, Defence and Medical imaging applications.This role is commutable from Harlow, Chelmsford, Braintree and Basildon. The role of the process engineer is to translate the product design into the individual processes needed to create the product and ensure that the device performance criteria are met. They conduct pilot trials to prove concepts and test the tools and fixtures required for device manufacture. After establishing a satisfactory process and documenting the processes for manufacturing, the process engineer hands the manufacturing process over to the CCD line engineer, who will introduce the new processes in to production. Work with design teams to transition new products and processes from Development in to Manufacturing, ensuring that all of the requirements for manufacture are completed
