Product Chief Engineer - Power Systems

Salary c£50k per annum

Our Client is looking for a Product Chief Engineer to manage the development of the next generation of worldwide integrated power management and distribution systems products for military land vehicles.

Key responsibilities
-Responsible for all aspects of the engineering design and development to quality, cost and schedule
-Development of robust project plans, internal and external reporting on engineering tasks against the baseline plan and management of resources to ensure development milestones are met
-Ownership of the product development process, using a disciplined approach to ensure full traceability of design features to Customer requirements, in a process compliant manner
-Work proactively with the Lead Systems Engineer of each customer facing project to ensure that the developed products are compliant with the system requirements from the customer whilst maximising product commonality
-Work efficiently with each Project Manager, ensuring that all project dependencies, issues, risks and opportunities are clearly identified and effectively managed, including escalation of any issues
-Leadership, management and motivation of the Product Engineering Team through effective communication of project objectives to create a customer focused delivery orientated environment
-Facilitate creative problem solving and foster a collaborative working environment based on open communication
-Serve as a focal point to resolve interface and integration issues across power systems products
-Co-ordination of customer presentations, review and release of design schemes, drawings, analysis and deliverables
-Engagement with sales and marketing to support the development of further markets for power systems products
Coaching and development of team members to meet objectives of individuals, projects
