Delphi Diesel Systems are a world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for Engine Management System Calibration Engineer on a contract basis to help develop a thorough understanding of the clients requirements, Delphi's common rail diesel fuel injection and engine control system, and the engine performance and emissions of the application. The Calibration Engineer will require understanding and interpreting customer requirements for fuel injection equipment and the engine management system, executing or managing rig test, engine test and system calibration activities, liaison with client engineers and managers, short term residency at client premises (e.g. climate test trips), troubleshooting and supporting engineering and system calibration activities through to production and beyond.

The EMS Calibration Engineers responsibilities will include but are not limited:
- System integration and calibration of Delphi Common Rail fuel injection systems on a range of engine applications, both on- and off-highway.
- Support to, or responsibility for (depending on skills), aspects of engine and FIE system calibration
- Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles. Writing reports and presenting results to Delphi and client audiences.
- Close liaison with client (including short periods at client premises) to monitor project progress, track Delphi components, train client engineers in Delphi CR systems and assist in troubleshooting on calibration, mechanical and electronic issues.
- Organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet customer requirements.
- Client handling, in order to understand and advise the external clients on the design specifications of a particular product.

The successful Calibration Engineer will hold a degree in mechanical engineering with experience of engine emissions and performance development and calibration.

Experience of engine control and fuel injection systems, and calibration tools would also be preferred.

Must be a good team player with good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision

Must also be able to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.
