We seek a Inventory Control Analyst for an initial 6-month contract based in Leicester.

THE COMPANY:

Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP) is located in Desford (Leicestershire). This site is dedicated to the assembly of small construction machines, typically used on building and construction sites. These include Backhoe Loaders, Small Wheel Loaders, Mini Hydraulic Excavators and Compact Wheel Loaders.

THE ROLE:

As Inventory Control Analyst, you will be responsible for providing an objective level of customer service for the client"s dealers/customers at a minimal investment. Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor. In addition, you will be investigating reasons for service loss, explaining inventory growth, assisting in the rearrangement of a distribution centre, evaluating vendor performance, assessing the value of alternative stocking rules, and Determining impact on IM of alternative transportation strategies.

THE PERSON:

As Inventory Control Analyst on the Cat Logistics team, you will ensure that customer orders are fulfilled and dealer, distribution centers and regional distribution centers trucks are able to depart at scheduled times. Also you will investigate stock record discrepancies by analysing and interpreting various types of transaction audit trails in order to ensure correct record adjustments. Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to),
- Analyse computer calculated stock record adjustments resulting from edits and/or discrepancies detected by physical counts, and audit Parts Record Clerk adjustments,
- Review computer generated reports of pending record adjustments,
- Obtain count card, part inquiries, receipt and disbursement transaction activity, etc.,
- Consider stock check type, record and count quantities, and adjustment history,
- Investigate and analyse activity to determine the correct record adjustment,
- Investigate and analyse stock record inventory adjustments exceeding established dollar parameters prescribed for other assignments in section and authorize record adjustment,

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED,
- Two to four year college degree or prior job experience, and
- Experience in lower level jobs in Availability and Inventory Management, Purchasing, Transportation and Engineering or Dealer Services, storeroom and/or manufacturing

Desirable Qualifications:
- Distribution Requirements Planning and warehouse system skills,
- Excellent oral/written communication skills,

Education/Experience: Degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or equivalent.
