Our client is a precision low volume, high performance powertrain company with links to motor racing. They are seeking 2 trainee technician / fitters for a short term contract until end march 2012. Weekly hours are 42 hours per week (8.5 per day)but flexibility for some weekend working or evenings would be appreciated

You will be working in an environment second to none, clean, bright, precision oriented. Your duties will be to assist engine builders and technician in their duties eg keep tooling clean, update databases, cutting and caping material, preparing race kits.

Must be able to demonstrate technical ability, eg have practical work experience even though training is give.
Right mindset is key for this role as you need to be proactive rather than relying on others to allocate work.

You must have a GSCE in Maths or already be able to use Excel and Word (MS Office,

The role is encompassing as you'll be working to reduce scrap and waste to present a cost saving and implementing all your recommendations. Established in 2005, it has ambitious plans for further, steady growth and this has created many new opportunities for talented Engineers to join the team.

Working on behalf of the UK Centre, offering Engineering leadership and expertise, this role is based 80% of the time in India, other periods will be in the UK at the Coventry Centre. Whilst in India all living expenses will be covered offering a marvellous opportunity to experience this wonderful country. The initial focus will be to provide CAD and Engineering guidance to a small team of Indian Engineers on Lighting projects for commercial vehicle programmes.
