Based within a Global Aerospace and Defence company in Cheltenham, a vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer who has good working knowledge of CATIA and can work alongside the engineering teams within their land defence products division.

As a supplier of sophisticated Data and Power solutions to the Aerospace and Military Land System markets, this role will provide expert Mechanical design support to the Engineering Team and provide designs to cost.

Primarily, the role is to:

  • perform tolerance analysis, calculations and FMEAs for designs generated by the Engineering Team
  • work with the Engineering Design Team and liaise with customers to achieve successful product designs
  • provide innovative design solutions to a target cost
  • write clear and professional reports as required and ensure all project documentation conforms to company standards of content and storage
  • specify the design of structural and electro-mechanical assemblies and wiring harnesses
  • prepare estimates of work, concept designs, bills of materials and technical response documents to support bid activities and proposals to customers
  • be able to generate finished designs based on the proposed design and cost data
  • provide input to design specifications to fulfil product design expectations and customer requests
  • provide information to aid project planning and costing feedback to the IPT Lead

To support, you will be able to:

  • use3D modelling, specifically CATIA V5. Additionally, experience using SDRC Ideas would be an advantage.
  • produce CAD mechanical and electrical drawings to the company standard.
  • implement design/drawing changes as required using TeamCenter configuration control software
  • generate BOMs and assist production engineers as necessary

Further activities will include:

  • aiding Marketing by generating presentation quality images of product as required
  • providing a positive contribution to the Engineering team’s brainstorming, design review and decision making processes
  • contributing to any customer or Ultra – PALS demonstrations and/or presentations
  • capturing, review, challenge or amend project technical requirements throughout the duration of the project as appropriate.
  • maintaining a continuous assessment of new technologies and procedures which may be appropriate to be incorporated into UEED products and processes to enable company growth and development.

They require a Quality Manager to join their UK based office in in Worcestershire. You must have an in depth knowledge of quality tools including PDCA, FMEA, FTA, 5 WHYS, JIT, Auto-Quality, Kaizen combined with experience of auditing in line with quality systems and experience in a quality position (APU/SQA OR Plant) .

Responsibilities:-
Deploy the (QRQC) Quick Response Quality Control approach in all areas of the Division: Line, APU, Plant, supplier, warranty, logistics and sales.
Train people to QRQC step 1 and step 2 levels, and audit the QRQC level with the owner of the QRQC.
Participate in all QRQC activities as part of the On Job Training program.
Validate that the Red box is in place in all departments: Logistics (DPM, SBL, and CBO) Sales (Customer Red Box, meeting minutes, and catalog issues), Production (Line red box, Warranty Tec Warranty or other system, Customer Km0, Supplier C1).
Responsible for reactivity in respecting client's standards (QR in 24h, P/D in 5D, C/A in 10 D).
Validate that the Quality tools are 100% used: SRM / QIM for C1/C2 and L1 / L2/ CRB / Tec War
Manage the return flow with their customers (screening, warranty, catalog, etc.) in line with customer expectations and internal QCDM criteria.
Manage supplier quality activities.
Animate the supplier QRQC and warranty QRQC.
Responsible for the VAQ Supplier Quality Manual.
Animate the supplier Focus program with the suppliers.
Ensure the charge-back to the supplier due to supplier non quality.
Ensure the quality of product deliveries.
Suspend any Supplier or Customer deliveries if Quality standards are not respected by the Division or by the internal (Valeo) or external supplier.
Lead management of main customer issues such as recalls or red alerts.
Inform the plant QRQC about the status of main supplier issues.
Escalate main issues to other Divisions or to VS branch.
Obtain and maintain Quality system certification.
Define, animate and obtain the quality system certification for the Division (ISO9001).
Perform Quality Audits such as Process, System and Product audits in the Division.
Lead the Quality Improvement Plan of the Division.
Coordinate V5000 Actions plan and animate the V5000 Total Quality and Supplier Integration road maps.
Manage Customer intimacy with regular customer visits in order to have a view of customer satisfaction.
Manage action plan at division level for bi-annual customer intimacy survey.
Responsible of action plan to improve Non quality Cost according to the Group definition.
Manage weekly and monthly quality reporting for the Division including total returns, PAQ, ABC ranking.

A skilled Quality Inspectors is required to provide full vehicle inspection of newly built cars looking at drive handling, squeaks and rattles, visual and manual activities to ensure that all aesthetical and functionality attributes are fit for purposes. As a key member of the quality team you will be responsible for inspection, containment and problem resolution reporting concerns back into assembly and production to ensure customer satisfaction.

This will initially be 12 month on fully vehicle inspection on current and future models.

You must have experience with:
- Quality Inspection within an OEM preferably looking a full or whole vehicle.
- Quality Auditing, testing and validation of new products in line with the demands of (New Product Development) procedure.
- Collation, analysis and reporting of quality data.
- Carry out repeat validation testing when engineering changes are introduced.
- Carry out ride handling activities to look at NVH, squeaks and rattles and associated issues.
- Report back any issues with regards to the full vehicle to allow containment and corrective action to be implemented.
- Sign off new and current vehicles to ensure customer satisfaction.

Ideally the candidates will come from an automotive OEM and have previous exposure to full vehicle inspection to include visual, functional and ride handling activities to ensure vehicle suitability for road use.

The position is an urgent requirement and will be days based and will require a proactive approach from the individuals who can identify and contain quality issues within the supplied parts ensuring successful containment and problem resolution. An experienced Engineering / Maintenance Manager with a strong manufacturing background and experience of a variety of manufacturing processes is required for a varied role with a leading manufacturing company based in Sheffield. Successful candidates would ideally have a strong Heavy Engineering background.


The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for the general oversight of all industrial equipment, buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities for cost reduction through enhanced equipment and systems performance along with oversight for maintenance activities on the site. Candidates should have previous experience of working in a high pressure Manufacturing Environment using Continuous Improvement Techniques


-Provide management for the maintenance manager, facilities engineer, and maintenance staff persons.
-Strategic Maintenance and Project Engineering leadership
-Management and control of maintenance and facilities yearly budgets
-Integral in the link between manufacturing and site support activity.
-Managing business improvement projects for facilities and equipment from identification through to establishing the solution and then undertaking condition monitoring to ensure a permanent fix is in place.
-Review and improve existing equipment and facilities in a controlled and methodical manner.

This role will develop and implement world class sourcing processes with KPI’s, demonstrable control and continuous improvement, as well as a clear documented Sourcing Methodology.  You will also ensure early supplier input to Projects, ensuring that leverage is applied to achieve programme targets and maximise competitive business advantage through the life of contracts.

Your main role will be:

  • To develop New Sourcing routes where applicable

  • Use Value Analysis and Value Engineering
  • Ensuring supplier input to design, to achieve most cost effective solution
  • Developing and maintaining suppliers to become best practice sources
  • Responsible for purchase of consumable’s and services that are purchased through the main system.
  • Participate with stock takes when required.

To support this central and specific position, you must have a demonstrated ability to manage Sourcing covering both Strategy creation and implementation.  Within an engineering, design and manufacturing environment, excellent communication skills and relevant knowledge is required.

- Proven experience as a multi skilled maintenance engineer within a high volume automotive environment
- Background using Siemen's S7 or Modicon PLC's (fault finding only NOT programming) and ABB/Kuka robots
- Conversant with both PPM/TPM
- Apprentice trained, ONC or BTEC educated

A Senior Software Engineer is immediately required for a UK leading engine test systems facility based in Worcester. This exciting opportunity will be responsible for ensuring that customer related engine projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position will require either leading a team of Software Engineers or working alone depending on the size or timescale of the project.

The Company:

Our client design, manufacture and supply an extensive range of engine testing systems in the automotive, aerospace, marine and industrial markets. The Senior Software Engineer role responsibilities will include:

? To work with the engineering team to identify and implement software solutions which meet customer RFQs.
? Capable of managing individual projects with minimum supervision.
? Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and assist in reviewing overall engineering designs within the scope of software operation.

Improving the current models of active system controls and working on the compatibility of same. Analysing load data and predicting vehicle failure modes in conjunction with Finite Element Analyses done in other CAE department - creating reports.

Skills Required
-Good knowledge of vehicle engineering including dynamics, strength and fatigue of engineering materials and the mechanics and dynamics of structural systems
-Experience in Vehicle Program delivery, preferably from a Vehicle Engineering perspective

As specialists in hot and cold forming, sheet metal components, assemblies, fabrications, thermal insulation and protection, this role will be responsible to Identify, Lead and Execute business cost savings programs through structured Kaizen projects.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Complete time studies for manufacturing processes, sequence processes, and material handling flow as needed
  • Analyse processes for efficiency gains and waste elimination
  • Implement new technology/processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Support all plants in achieving their continuous improvement goals
  • Maintain tracking and reporting of projects
  • Lead change towards operational excellence, and assist in the continual improvement of the system, process and product

You will need to have a Professional Engineering Qualification ideally CEng, or working towards CEng.  In addition, have;

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing and assembly operations experience
  • Lean Manufacturing methodologies, training and/or implementation experience
  • Statistical knowledge and labour analysis skills (time studies)
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office: and Minitab
  • Training in problem solving methodologies.
  • Process Planning exposure
