User Controls Human Factors Engineer

A User Controls Human Factors Engineer is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.

The requirement of this project is to develop and implement a strategy for user controls for future products in all markets.
This will include forecasting future trends, benchmarking competitor practice, technologies and market requirements.
The development of strategy papers, requirements and standards for user controls.
Creating a standardised method of setting programme targets and measuring status.
The support of vehicle design and engineering teams in the delivery of user controls.
Support the Programme attribute team leaders in the Validation of user controls.
Issue resolution and sign-off.

The scope of this project with cover the following:
- Attribute responsibility for cross carline user controls.
- Definition of Requirements and standards for user controls.
- Methods of target setting and status

Primary Skills required:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with good all-round automotive engineering knowledge.
- Experience in Vehicle user control design and functionality
- An interest in premium automotive interior requirements in worldwide makets and the ability to express those requirements in engineering terms.
- An understanding of human-factors in automotive design, new vehicles/infotainment technologies, HMI design.
- An appreciation of CAD/CAE and Vehicle Packaging
- Ability to think strategically.
- Persuasion and influencing skills.
- Strong appreciation of customer expectations and experience of quality data analysis

Education required:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with good all-round automotive engineering knowledge.
