Vehicle Human Factors /Ergonomic/HMI Specialist Engineer £Ltd co Negotiable

- Support for Vehicle Interior Accommodation and Usability Attributes.
- For specific new vehicle programmes, take responsibility for development of the Daily Life usage Ergonomics element of the Accommodation and Usability attribute
- Develop and set HMI targets and solutions with Design and Engineering, ensure adherence to relevant standards, lead problem resolution and validate delivery throughout the vehicle design and development process
- Act as the attribute single point of contact for the programme team.

Specific areas of Responsibility include:

- Luggage and Cargo Carrying and flexibility,
- Stowage
- Maintenance routines
- Trailer tow usability,
- Smoking
- Electrical power provision
- Roof rack loads
- External Electrical hook-ups
- Turning circle

Required
- Sound understanding of HMI/Human Factors/Ergonomics principles in the automotive arena.
- Ability to benchmark competitor vehicles robustly and interpret data reliably.
- Clear and concise communicator.
- Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
- Ability to develop strategies, analyse future trends, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to manage workload and deliver to short timescales and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
- Ergonomics experience and/or formal ergonomics qualification
- Interpretation of customer quality data (e.g. JD Power)

Degree Qualified, you will be part of the team developing Ergonomic, Human Factor/HMI techniques

This role is based at Gaydon, but may require some working at Whitley.
