A Senior Software Engineer is immediately required for a UK leading engine test systems facility based in Worcester. This exciting opportunity will be responsible for ensuring that customer related engine projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position will require either leading a team of Software Engineers or working alone depending on the size or timescale of the project.

The Company:

Our client design, manufacture and supply an extensive range of engine testing systems in the automotive, aerospace, marine and industrial markets. Their test systems consist of a variety of engine and chassis dynamometers and high technology control and data acquisition software, along with test stands and ancillary equipment for the test cell. They produce customised solutions for customers, designed by highly experienced teams of mechanical, electrical and software engineers.

The Senior Software Engineer role responsibilities will include:

? To work with the engineering team to identify and implement software solutions which meet customer RFQs.
? Capable of managing individual projects with minimum supervision.
? Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and assist in reviewing overall engineering designs within the scope of software operation.
? Provide technical support and training to customers and other engineering personnel.
? Generation of design and test specifications.
? Configure / modify software products to meet project requirements.
? Release software for in-house testing prior for installation and testing on customer site.
? To take an active design / development role at any stage required in a project led by another software engineer.
? To maintain professional liaison with Customers to ensure that developments proceed in accordance with agreed specifications.

The person:

? Ideally qualified to at least Degree level (or equivalent) in software and engineering discipline.
? Have at least three years' experience as a control systems engineer. The ideal candidate would have experience in PLC and SCADA systems, knowledge of ECU interfaces and knowledge of production engine testing in an automotive environment.
? Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Visual Basic.
? Have a proven record in achieving project timescales and budgets.

The salary is likely to be in the range £35k to £45k entirely dependent on experience plus a company pension scheme.
