As a Production Support Planner you have responsibility for the internal planning and expediting a defined group of Products within the manufacturing lines in order to satisfy customer requirements (OTIF), whilst constantly improving costs, cycle times and agility (reactivity). Working with the Supply Chain the role also has responsibility for the timely arrival of all manufacturing materials and components to the manufacturing areas.

The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of Materials Management and Planning Systems (SAP preferred). The facility"s manufacturing activities utilise the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a "state of the art" paint plant along with rigorous attention to quality. THE ROLE:

To develop and execute a Plan for Every Part (PFEP), maximising logistics process efficiency through the elimination of waste, driving cost reduction by evaluating total cost of ownership (TCO) and applying 6 Sigma methodology and lean guiding principles.
To provide safe, ergonomic solutions and support to existing product and processes, as well as supporting ongoing CPPD teams and NPI programs.
A key function within the Supply Chain Planning and Logistics team, responsible for deploying the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops a Plan for Every Part (PFEP). This includes assigning parts to cost effective business processes and material flow paths, developing packaging solutions, optimisation of transport, and implementing effective replenishment methods including pull systems. Requiring strong collaboration skills applied throughout the supply chain and operations, this role is also required to support line layout development to enable safe and ergonomic presentation of materials at point of use. The Logistics Planning Engineer uses PFEP analytical and web tools, maintains data integrity, and is instrumental in identifying continuous improvement opportunities within the Supply Chain.
Other key responsibilities include supporting ongoing NPI programs through active participation within various CPPD teams. The role also requires commitment to the Business Transformation Process, Caterpillar Production Systems and 6 Sigma Projects.

THE PERSON:

Graduate qualification in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Mgt (Equivalent Experience will be considered).
Experience of packaging design and solutions.
Knowledge of lean principles/ Caterpillar Production Systems.
Experience of 6 Sigma methodology, project management and continuous improvement processes.
Experience in the application of lean tools including waste elimination, value stream mapping, problem solving, process flow analysis and 5S.
Ability to analyse data, and drive root cause corrective action opportunities.
Good level of computer skills, and user experience of Supply Chain systems and processes.
