Principal Engineer
Warwickshire, M69 and is commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Hinckley, and Leicester

REQUIREMENTS:
Provides a technical focus for the strategic growth of the companies Electric vehicle competence and capabilities.

Key functions includes:
•Define a strategy for building a credible EV /HEV capability within the E&C group.
•Build and manage a team of EV electrical
•Lead the creation of new project proposals for new EV/HEV and related business.
•Support and provide technical input into EV/HEV and related research projects
•Project manage EV /HEV project work within department
•Maintain project budgets and input into monthly BPR reports
•Manage absence and holiday request for direct reports
•Provide technical support to team members
•Support the prioritisation and organise work within team
•Support project review meeting with customers
•Improve operating procedures and improve departments efficiency
•Continue develop EV and HEV capabilities


DESCRIPTION: Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification.
This role is based in Warwickshire, close to the M69 and is commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Hinckley, and Leicester.

Essential VAC REQ :
•Has a technical background (biased towards electrical and electronics engineering) and has experience working in in the automotive industry for at least 5 years. Either in an OEM or first tier supplier
•Has worked on or led an EV/HEV or related project.
•The person should be well organised and be able to demonstrate that they can communicate well at all levels
•Worked in a supervisory or management role
•Experience of managing and reporting budgets
•Experience of managing multi-disciplined projects especially in the automotive industry.
•Experience in writing technical proposals and comfortable with estimating the costs for electrical engineering biased project work.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications.  i.e they must be able to create and maintain records in Microsoft Excel and proficient in producing tracking charts and presenting data in PowerPoint presentations.
