Facilities Installation Engineer

£20.80 - 20.80 per hour
Determine optimum methods and facilities for the manufacture of engine components for engine plants worldwide in line with program cost and quality objectives. Support simultaneous engineering teams to drive cost reductions and continuous improvement and flexibility in manufacturing tools and processes. Develop manufacturing processes that ensure all CPEM and FTEP principles are considered and implemented. Implement manufacturing systems that meet or exceed all national/local health and safety and ergonomic rules and regulations. Support installation, commissioning and production launch at customer plants. Manage the development of project facilities to support program delivery schedules. Drive continuous improvements in investment efficiency within engine programs. Determine manufacturing feasibility of product designs supported by detailed tolerance analysis. Support cross-functional teams toward the improvement of equipment reliability & maintainability based on historical data. Provide assistance to customer plants as required to support volume and quality improvement initiatives. Prepare program estimates. Support the implementation and development of FPS concepts in the manufacturing strategies and processes. Support introduction of new technologies into our manufacturing processes. Conduct ergonomic analysis and support productivity and simulation requirements. Keep pace with leading edge technologies. Ensure integration of Lessons Learned in all current and future programmes. Participate in cross functional team orientated problem solving. Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Skills Required:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate effective leadership behaviors. The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or related activity and will possess the following skills: An understanding of machining processes, tooling, gauging. A high level of motivation, initiative and creativity. Ability to work with a diverse team of Engineers, Vendors and Contractors in both Manufacturing Engineering and the Customer Plant. A flexible approach to cope with frequent change.
Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in an engineering discipline, is required.
Additional Information:
The ME PTO group supports Engine Plants globally and consequently regular travel is an essential part of this position.
