Job Purpose
Explore and develop new supply chain designs in a mix of high and low volume production opportunities. Be the expert in the Commodity ensuring keen management of cost, quality, continuity of supply and overall supplier management. Initially this will be in support of new product development, ensuring that supply chain construct meets the technical demands at minimum cost and project risk. The role will also be expected to provide critical inputs to the development of business and customer strategies and must ensure that Commodity Strategies adapt and influence as the product and technology mature in the market.

Responsible for
- Supplier relationships.
- Development and implementation of procurement strategies.
- Supply chain development.
- Negotiation of supplier agreements and delivery of value for money.
- On time delivery.

Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level in related field.
- At least associate membership of CIPS with commitment to becoming MCIPS.
- Strong Engineering appreciation, with appropriate qualifications.

Experience
- Procurement professional in an Engineering, Project and Commodity environment.
- Experience of medium / high volume manufacture, ideally in consumer electronics or automotive sectors.
- Development of strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong understanding of electro/mechanical engineering.
- Proven record of managing multiple projects.
- Proven ability to generate and maintain product cost models for production volume projections.
- Negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of Terms and Conditions.
- Understanding of supplier quality an advantage.
- Experience in undertaking supplier assessments.
- Proven record of improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
- Proven record of cost reduction and ability to monitor and analyse product cost.
- Experienced at contracting with Global suppliers.
