Structural Analyst (FE) - Automotive

Our client a world class solutions provider to some of the automotive industries leading suppliers and OEM's is currently looking to strengthen their analysis department with the introdution of a Structural Analysist to support current NVH and Vehcile Dynamic programmes. As a key member of the team you will be required to support and cover the following:

Job Role:

• Undertake modelling and analysis activities using FE methods to support component and vehicle design and development

Key Functions:

• Build, analyse and correlate FE models, including design refinement and optimisation
• Undertake modal and durability assessment of a variety of structures, principally automotive
• Support FE contribution to vehicle design and development programmes
• Support ad-hoc analysis requests in support of design and vehicle dynamics/NVH colleagues

Qualifications & Training  

• BSc or BEng or equivalent, in relevant subject
• Experience or training in FE tools including MSC.Nastran or ABAQUS,  Altair/HyperWorks (especially Optistruct and HyperMesh)
• Experience of MSC.Patran, MSC.Fatigue or DesignLife

Desired Experience:

• Use of MSC.Nastran or ABAQUS (stress, modal and vibration options) and associated modelling tools.
• Familiarity with automotive structures at component and vehicle level
• Significant experience of fatigue assessment using FE models
• Knowledge of design optimisation tools (Optistruct)
• Knowledge of MSC.Fatigue or DesignLife
• Use of (or interaction with) ADAMS analysis tools
