The PED team is a Vehicle Attribute team responsible for managing the delivery of the Performance, Economy and Driveability (PED) attributes. The Starting Attribute Specialist will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of the Starting attribute (a sub-attribute of Driveability) across a number of model year programmes and powertrain variants. The role involves co-ordination of all aspects of the Starting attribute across a variety of disciplines (e.g. Powertrain, Electrical, Chassis) to include target setting, target cascade, status assessment, problem resolution and reporting out status in many different forums.

Skills Required:
Excellent project management, organisational, presentation and communication skills. A proactive and tenacious approach and the ability to work effectively with many different teams and individuals. Good problem solving and data analysis skills using Excel and dedicated tools. Knowledge and understanding in vehicle and engine performance/economy development and EMS/TM calibration. Good knowledge of MS office applications.

Skills Preferred:
Use of Inca ETAS and MATLAB data analysis skills. Flexibility to work on many varied tasks, covering both brands, and on either Gaydon or Whitley site.

Experience Required:
Experience in either engine PandE, vehicle PED development or engine/transmission/vehicle calibration. A background and track record in project management. Experience in presenting data and information clearly in large forums. Experience in logging and analysing measured vehicle data.

Experience Preferred:
Systems integration experience preferred, particularly, Requirements Authoring/documentation.

Education Required:
An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Education Preferred:
Candidates from other industries may be considered depending on knowledge and experience.

Additional Information:
Travel between the Gaydon and Whitley sites, may be required.
