Software Engineer

Working for a leading supplier of vehicle information systems to major automotive companies, by developing software to operate the instrument packs and interface with the vehicle communications networks.
Role
You will work within the Software Development Team, reporting to the Software Team Leader and responsible for the development of embedded software functionality in "C" for an instrument pack, the principal driver information instrument. This involves the interpretation of customer specification, top level design, functional design, coding, module test, integration.
Some basic hardware/software interaction debug is sometimes necessary, as the hardware is new for every project. Work with the Validation and Verification department and vehicle test on customer site is maybe also required to identify system problems and resolve bugs.
Requirements
You will have ideally 2 years current experience in developing using Embedded C, or Embedded C++. Other technical requirements include Automotive Protocols CAN, and Visual Basic. You must be a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and have a logical and lateral thinking mind. A degree in Computer Science or relevant Engineering discipline is essential.
