Design Engineer

My client designs, tests and manufactures bespoke interior products for the aviation industry.
The product development will involve all aspects of styling, engineering, designing, testing, procurement, assembly and delivery of the final product.
- Carry out daily tasks utilising Catia v.5 in the efficient design of an aircraft structure
- Support the Lead / Senior Design Engineer in the day to day running of the seating programme to ensure deliverables are on time and adhere to specification,
- Substantiate designs through 3D analysis and prototyping
- Ensure the design is carried out in accordance to the relevant Airframe Specification.
- ensure the design meets the aesthetic and technical ambitions of the customer.
- Be an effective communicator to ensure departmental requirements are met.
Accountable for the safe and reliable design of an aircraft seat across multiple programmes.
Working with the Lead and Senior Design Engineers and the Development and Certification Manager, ensure regulatory guidelines and requirements are met.
Requirements - Strong Mechanical Engineering degree or extensive mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in a mechanical engineering related field utilising CAD for product manufacturing
- Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques
- Must prove sufficient 3D parametric CAD capability with both solid and surface modelling
