Advanced Vehicle Concept Specialist Engineer

£29.90 - 29.90 per hour
Working as part of the Advanced Vehicle Concepts team the chosen candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the concept reviews and selections activities against the required timing and gateway process.
- System engineering of key aspects of the vehicle systems. This is whole vehicle system engineering.
- Liaising and communicating with key stakeholders to gain buy-in/agreement to the approach/design.
- Eliciting stakeholder needs. Documenting the process.
- Capturing and documenting system requirements in a robust manner.
- Cascading system requirements to sub-systems within/outside the team.
- Use case development to aid in system definition.
- Delivering efficient technical solutions to cross functional problems.
- Ensuring all robustness/quality processes are followed and built in to the system design. Working within the QOS.
- Working closely with the systems leads and functional safety leads.
- Liaising across CoCs and departments to ensure new system functionality and features are delivered correctly.
Skills Required:
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues within a Project Team environment. Experience in delivering complex systems. Good communication, interpersonal skills, self confidence and a "passion for the product" are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. Experience of systems engineering and/or complex system integration is essential. Knowledge of requirements management software i.e. Doors - Desirable. Knowledge of automotive systems, alternative propulsion systems, vehicle platform design.
Skills Preferred:
Strong communication skills. Strong organisational skills. A high level of diligence and personal integrity. Ability to work within a team. Sound judgement.
Experience Required:
Background in delivering complex systems using robust delivery techniques. Involvement in systems engineering.
Experience Preferred:
Strong system engineering knowledge and approach is preferred, and it may be the candidate may not have an automotive background - candidates from similar disciplines will be considered.
Education Required:
Degree in an Engineering or an associated discipline.
Additional Information:
Based out of Warwick University, the candidate will be required to travel to Whitley and Gaydon.
