Senior Design Engineer

My client designs, tests and manufactures bespoke interior products for the aviation industry.

The product development will involve all aspects of styling, engineering, designing, testing, procurement, assembly and delivery of the final product.

• Carry out daily tasks utilising Catia V5 in the efficient design of an aircraft structure
• Support the Lead Design Engineer in the day to day running of the seating programme to ensure deliverables are on time and adhere to specification
• Provide technical guidance
• Substantiate designs through 3D analysis and prototyping
• Ensure the design is carried out in accordance to the relevant Airframe Specification.
• Ensure the design meets the aesthetic and technical ambitions of the customer.
• Be an effective communicator to ensure departmental requirements are met
• Liaise direct with OEM s and Aircraft Manufacturers.
  Accountable for the safe and reliable design of an aircraft seat across multiple programmes.
  Working with the Lead Design Engineer and the Engineering and Certification manager, ensure regulatory guidelines and requirements are met.
  Meeting the customer brief in accordance with the programme delivery, weight, budget and available resource.
  
  
  
  Requirements
• Strong Mechanical Engineering degree
• Extensive post graduate experience in a mechanical engineering related field utilising CAD for product manufacturing
• Must be capable of undertaking fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis
• Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques
• Must prove sufficient Catia v.5 capability with both solid and surface modelling
• Must be a excellent communicator both verbally and written
• Must be capable of adapting to a fast and pressured environment
