Leading the fuel system calibration on a customer programme and supporting the customer in their engine performance and emissions calibration activities;
Managing the phased release of updates to software and datasets;
Developing a thorough understanding of common rail (CR) diesel fuel injection and engine control system, and the engine performance and emissions of the application;
Understanding and interpreting customer requirements for fuel injection equipment and the engine management system;
Executing or managing rig test, engine test and system calibration activities;
Short term residency at client premises (e.g. climate test trips);
Troubleshooting and supporting engineering and system calibration activities through to production and beyond.
Responsibilities

System integration and calibration of Common Rail fuel injection systems on a range of engine applications, both on- and off-highway
Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles. Writing reports and presenting results to client audiences.
Close liaison with client (including short periods at client premises) to monitor project progress, tracki components, train client engineers in CR systems and assist in troubleshooting on calibration, mechanical and electronic issues.
Education

Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject
Experience of engine emissions and performance development and calibration
Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, and able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be able to work away from home for short periods.

As the ECUSystems Engineers you will develop real-time electronic control systems for diesel fuel injection equipment and other integrated engine and vehicle electronic systems.
The roles main duties will be drawn from the following:
Capturing and analysing customer requirements, designing control algorithms (using Simulink), designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications

The Calibration Engineers will devise and execute test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles. Write reports and present results.
You will have close liaison with client (including short periods at client premises) to monitor project progress, track components, train client engineers in Common Rail systems and assist in troubleshooting on calibration, mechanical and electronic issues. Support to, or take responsibility for (depending on skills), aspects of engine and Fuel Injection Equipment system calibration.
The Calibration Engineers will hold a degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject.
Experience of diesel and/or gasoline engine calibration. A good team player with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision.

Position Description:

Data Quality and Maintenance Engineer supporting Test Operations to ensure that the engine, transmission and emission facility is reliable and robust. To ensure the powertrain test facility is capable for test delivery and calibration teams, to ensure the teams are in control of achieving their goal. Responsible for identifying issues through data collection, analysis and comparison to specification. Defining new specifications, delivering engineering solutions to issues identified. To deliver robust preventative and corrective maintenance of powertrain test facilities including definition and carrying out the required TPM activity and condition monitoring.

Skills Required:

A good all round engineering and product knowledge with proven task management and leadership skills.

Experience Preferred:

Engine / powertrain development or calibration knowledge and experience. Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification on facility and powertrain systems. Deliver drawings and layouts in 3D and/or 2D CAD. Catia/AutoCAD.

Education Required:

HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering discipline.

A new 3/4-month contract opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer based in Shrewsbury.

As Quality Engineer you will introduce and improve processes and procedures to ensure high quality products reach the customer. This is a critical appointment, which will rely heavily not only on the skills gained through experience in a quality role but the interpersonal skills of the individual.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support new product engineering throughout the APQP process.
* Support manufacturing, co-ordinate internal product / process improvement, problem solving and internal PPM improvements.
* Interface with the customer to co-ordinate concerns and problem resolution.
* Out of hours contact for designated customer base.
* Support Purchasing when required to improve supplier performance.
* Maintain and improve core quality documentation.

Characteristics and Requirements:
* Qualified to HNC level, an equivalent NVQ or associate membership to the Institute of Quality Assurance.
