This role is a very key role for the firm we are working with, you will be managing the warehouse as an entity with responsibility for 11 staff members over the 20,000 square foot facility in Northampton. It will incorporate the successful running of the in-house WMS (no implementation experience required) in an RF environment operating in a very fast paced pick/pack warehouse, the firm have been established in the UK for 9 years and distribute worldwide from this facility.

The staff you will be responsible for are made up of order pickers (warehouse staff), quality technicians (goods inwards and product quality), administration staff and a supervisor. A pre requisite for this role is previous experience in a similar role as this is a high end management role, you must be very team orientated, personable and have experience of working to KPI's. The company have an ethos of expanding at a natural rate and operate a cautious approach to new business, they have a new product entering the market approximately every 2 days and their catalogue spans over 2,500 products.

They have a plan for the future which includes further expansion into a larger local warehouse, the type of person that would suit this role is a person who operates with the same ideology and is prepared to grow with the firm at the rate they want to grow. Our client is a world-leader in the provision of project management, technical engineering and construction services to the Water industry, on programs ranging from Water Supply, Treatment and Storage to Water Resources Management and Coastal Restoration.

They are currently looking to appoint a Cost Analyst initially based in Manchester and will then be based in Peterborough on a 3-month contract basis.

As Cost Analyst, the principal focus is cost management best practice and you will be working within or as part of a centralised specialist team or contributing in an integrated team co-located with the client.

You will have responsibility for:
- Engineering design experience in both water and non-water projects and programmes of work across all disciplines.
- Commercial awareness gained working with various commercial arrangements, contractual conditions and/or project delivery strategies.
- Mathematical, analytical, data manipulation and statistical skills to enable cost models to be populated into the client's corporate data capture systems.
- Competent working in an environment that relies significantly on electronic data handling.
- Able to multi-task and take responsibility for delivering to time and budget with minimal supervision

Applicants must have an Engineering degree or equivalent, although HNC/HND qualifications will also be considered along with cost estimating experience on multi-discipline (civil, mechanical or electrical) projects. The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A BSc with a 1st or 2.1 class in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent, and a PhD from a leading institute.
  • Must have substantial industrial experience working within product development environment.

  • Hands-on experience with standard laboratory techniques;
