Delphi Diesel are a World leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment and are now looking to recruit a Development and Simulation Engineer. The Development and Simulation Engineer is required to create mathematical models, run simulation and validate via testing of mechanical and hydraulic systems related to Diesel Common Rail pumps.
This role will support design and development of innovative products that meet the customer requirements and provide competitive advantage in performance, cost and quality.
The successful candidate will be required to convert and apply generic models to bespoke pump components and systems in given conditions.
Run simulation with software such as Matlab / Simulink, Amesim, Mathcad, Ansys etc. to generate the required data to support design, development and validation activities.
Integrate the mechanical and hydraulic models such as linkage between inlet/outlet valves and cam design to fulfil the CR system requirements.
Define and analyse development tests to validate the models created.
Create, run and analyse bespoke tests to assess the performance of CR components and systems
Deliver all the required results in project constraints (time, quality, cost)
Candidates will be degree qualified in mechanical engineering or equivalent subject such as physics etc. Experience of running a project between concept definition and product testing.
Must have proven skills in handling complex mathematical models.
Good understanding of mechanical and/or hydraulic engineering. Good knowledge of running simulations using Matlab / Simulink, Mathcad, Amesim, Ansys or alternatives.
Must be willing to travel for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
