Reporting to the Diesel engine business planning Manager, the primary role involves planning, co-ordination, approval, reporting of planning activities. Prepare detailed agreed budget responses (Headcount, EDandT and vehicles) in responses to PDL"s and APC programmes. During the APC phase of programmes significant changes occur in assumptions at short notice which require quick responses to changes in assumptions. Represent the Diesel team at weekly PT PDL governance meeting and ensure that PDLs are responded to on time and that the PAS sheets are reviewed within the team and approved. Responsible for ensuring that the technical assumption decks, which are used to define the level of resource required to deliver a programme and to help communicate programme content internal to the department and to suppliers, are reviewed and updated on a regular basis, that changes are clearly communicated through the teams and with suppliers and that the RFQ and quotes are against the right assumptions. Responsible for supporting the maintenance and evolving a synthetic headcount, EDandT and vehicle requirement tool. Manage the raising of EDandT approval requests in line with supplier quotes, reviewing quotes against RFQ and using the PACN process to manage programme changes.

Skills Required:
Applicants should have experience in the management of complex projects. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment. Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a "passion for the product" are personal qualities needed to succeed in this environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Experience Required:
An understanding of product development processes and programme delivery principles. Experience of project or supplier management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost-effective delivery. Must be a competent practitioner in the use of Excel to analyse data and produce concise easily understood summaries.

Education Required:
Honours Degree in engineering, a science discipline or mathematics.

Additional Information:
This role will require the successful candidate to work at Gaydon and Whitley, and on occasions travel between sites during the day.
