Maintenance Engineer

The key responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer will be as follows:
- Provide shift support to skilled maintenance associates on the production facility
- Monitor plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance including the buy off of new equipment.
- Support Maintenance Supervisor covering production when required
- Produce continuous improvement plans while continually improving maintenance methods.
- Monitor plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance and define and implement strategies that drive improvement
- Manage and monitor all software data backups including all Robots and PLC
- Develop educational/training plans for shift personnel including delivery of training programs.
- Track and monitor automation cycle times and improve where required
- Keep developing our current range of facility monitoring tools
- Develop operational procedures and visual aids ( SPL ) for maintenance requirements
- If necessary, must be able to change shifts at short notice and work overtime at short notice, also work from adjusted start times.


The successful candidates will be degree qualified and should be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:
- Working knowledge of plant engineering and body construction activities.
- Excellent knowledge of ABB S4 robots, fibre optic/copper interbus , PLC's and Pilz safety bus
- Knowledge of company procedures regarding safety COSHH and ergonomics.
- Ability to make short presentations to work groups and management.
- Good knowledge of the TEM maintenance system.
- Supervisory and work planning skills
- Ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours/ shift at short notice.
- Application of lean manufacturing techniques and working practices.
- Knowledge of 6 sigma and green belt training would be advantageous.
