Client Information
A market leading multi national manufacturing company require an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on New Product Development. The main duties of the role include working within the Production Engineering team to initiate and execute engineering improvement projects, direct and influence NPD to encompass Design for Manufacture considerations, and provide day-to-day technical support in the production facility



Job description
-Assist with the integration of all new products into the production facility via NPD process.
-Execute specific engineering project activities for the production facility in line with Strategic Initiatives.
-Highlight cost reduction opportunities exposed during NPD and Production support duties.
-Resolve engineering and product support issues that materialize in the production facility on a day to day basis.
-The design, source and commissioning of Production test equipment and jigs.
-Participate in supplier visits, primarily in the UK and occasional overseas, where technical communication may improve supplier performance.
-Use NCCR and ECN process to rectify design issues and, where possible, perform investigative and developmental work to "fast-track" necessary changes.
-Deliver the training and implementation of selected OPEX strategies beneficial in a manufacturing environment and create and maintain Work Instruction documentation which assists operators to achieve 100% product consistency and reliability


Key skills and experience
-Candidates should be Degree Educated or HND in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
-Experience of Project implementation success in a fast moving development/manufacturing environment
-Ability to work with cross-disciplined teams to deliver project success and the resolution of production non-conformances
-Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment
-Use of 3D CAD to create and edit mechanical drawings, Autodesk Inventor preferred
