Our client is a leading automotive component manufacturer of BIW Presswork and Assembly. As Press Tooling Engineer you will be responsible for Tooling (Current and New Model introduction).
Job Purpose Summary:
Working within the Project Team to provide Tooling Specifications including costings.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Take early receipt of drawing and identify process needed to press component.
- Define what the Press Tool should look like.
- Process steps to press component forming and feasibility study
- Material stresses plus costs and the lead times around tools.
- Work with the supplier through out the build.
- Installation and commissioning at the relevant customer site.
- Support manufacturing with the estimation of cost.
- Products worth in the region of 2 -3 million pounds worth of investment.
- Final buy off machinery at relevant plant.
- Production of all supporting documentation to the customer and internally including Capacity Analysis, Material Flow, Standard Documentation.
- All customer sign off documentation.
- Understand the scope of work involved in delivering the tooling to the automotive line and the customer.
Previous Experience Essential
- 1st Tier Assembly Automotive
- Body in White / Chassis
- Steel Part Pressing
Advantageous
- Robotic Welding – resistance or mig
