Materials Team Leader/Chemist Team Leader

We manufacture a range of unique and exciting products and assemblies for the international defence ket place. A new permanent opportunity exists for a Senior Chemist/Materials Team Leader. The role could also be called a Laboratory Manager and the position is commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Kidderminster and Worcester.
REQUIREMENTS: Your duties will include research, development and manufacture of materials( metals, polymers and ceramics) as well as:
- Formulating polymeric materials to meet design requirements.
- Developing associated material and component manufacturing processes.
- Identifying and implementing material improvements, e.g. cost savings.
- Investigating and resolving material and associated process problems.
- Laboratory testing for physical and chemical properties.
The Team Leader will lead a team of 5 staff.
DESCRIPTION: You will have a relevant degree in Chemistry or Materials or similar. Experience is required for the Materials Team Leader position and also supervisory experience is required for this more senior role. You will be a British national,
or an EU national who has lived in the UK for more than 3 years.
Polymer experience would be useful but is not essential.
