Graduate Software Engineer

This vacancy exists due to growth in the clients portfolio of safety systems for some of the world’s most exciting sports, luxury and low carbon production vehicles, their mass production vehicle applications and demand for safety critical embedded software in many market sectors.  As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will apply cutting edge software engineering, customer liaison and technical support skills to product consultancy and applications projects from concept to production.  Examples include driver assistance, braking, steering, sensing, actuation, vision and wireless communications systems in automotive, aerospace, defence, intelligent transport and other sectors.

What you’ll do:

• Be a member of the Software Group reporting to the Group Leader
• Work in project or work package teams
• Produce system and software specifications, software designs, coding in embedded C & C++ using a range of software testing techniques
• Contribute to project proposals and quote preparation
• Contribute to the development of engineering processes and procedures
• Liaise with external agencies, partners and institutions

What we are looking for:

Essential:

• Recent graduate with first degree or higher in a related discipline that includes software and electronics aspects
• Good communication and inter-personal skills for team working and customer liaison
• Willing and able to occasionally visit customer facilities inUK, EU andUSA

Desirable:

• Knowledge of structured system design, UML and/or model based development using Matlab/Simulink
• Knowledge of control system design, modelling and simulation, Image and signal processing
• Practical experience in software development (C/C++)
• Able to use initiative and be self motivated
