Our Yorkshire-based client is a global Tier 2 designer and manufacturer of advanced electronic and electromechanical (mechatronic) products for the automotive industry including control units, sensors, monitors and motors

Main Duties
My client is seeking an experienced APQP and PPAP Quality professional to take on the role of Quality Planning Engineer.
As Quality Planning Engineer you will utilise all relevant experience to ensure that projects and new product development have a flawless production launch and to provide a strong link to the production environment, ensuring that customer PPAP approvals are gained in a controlled and timely manner.

Job description
Support the development team from the quotation and concept phase through to production with relevant quality input.
Liaison with customers regarding component quality and performance against expected levels
Involvement in the development of the product and production processes through support of FMEA creation and development, manufacturing feasibility meetings alongside other internal and external meetings
Monitoring and resolution of internal and customer related issues
Creation of control plans and implementation of the related controls to the production processes.
Monitor and progress launch readiness with particular focus on readiness for production testing and supporting other areas in achieving launch readiness.
Use a methodical approach to lead the development team to quick and effective problem solving.
Monitor production and customer quality performance and champion the resolution of any issues preventing the achievement of quality targets prior to production start.
Prepare and collate all data necessary to provide the customer with a complete PPAP submission and gain their approval.

Key skills and experience
Knowledge of electronics, metal pressing and small, precision plastic injection moulding procedures relating to high volume production
Strong working knowledge and previous experience in SPC, 8D s, Process Control Plans
Knowledge and experience in statistical problem solving
Knowledge and experience in APQP, PPAP and FMEA techniques
Qualified to minimum of HNC / HND in an engineering discipline, plus previous experience of a similar role
Strong knowledge of high-volume production and manual / semi-automatic assembly.
Role will include some national and international travel
