Composite Development Engineer
Gloucester/Cheltenham/Worcester

Role Summary/Purpose : The Lead MandP Engineer will work in the Composite Development team supporting both on site initiatives and global projects across the Materials and Process organization. Working with colleagues on site ers and at other sites in the US and UK, you will support the business in developing technology and processes to support the use of composite materials in major new aviation platforms. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities :
Use composites expertise to develop new processes and solutions
Evaluate materials and make recommendations to design and project teams
Recommend and support the implementation of process improvements within manufacturing areas
Initiate engineering specifications for materials and manufacturing processes
Work closely with project teams to understand materials requirements, be called upon as an expert where required
Proactively share and develop your composites knowledge to support new technology development within the business
Qualifications/Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Materials and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar level of knowledge and experience
Broad experience working in composite materials and process, preferably within the aviation industry
Experience of working within cross functional project teams, acting as a technical expert
Desired Characteristics :
Materials technology concentration should be composites, plastics, and organic chemistry as they relate to Aerospace composites and bonding manufacturing processes
Material and Process engineer experienced in Aerostructures advanced composite materials and process technologies
Familiar with epoxy and BMI-based fiber-reinforced materials and related honeycomb structures, adhesives and related processes
Aerostructures composite fabrication experience
Laboratory and manufacturing experience Advanced Degree in Materials Engineering
