A Sub-system Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Basildon, Essex.

Sub-system Engineer for Air Induction and Air Charging systems.
Job Requirements
The Sub-system Engineer will be responsible for component development and release for global vehicle programs. Engineer operating as part of a team responsible for design, development, verification and release of AIS system components. Project manage and lead external design and manufacture suppliers to deliver system solutions. Development and execution of Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and work with interfacing commodities to ensure robust system performance. Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA and 6-sigma (DMAIC) processes. Maintain releasing, cost and quality tools for sub-system components. Manage program timing and budget for sub-system components. Support for prototype vehicle builds, and Supplier manufacturing trials on-site.
Skills Required:
Engineering fundamental knowledge, including design and test. Proven track record of delivery of challenging engineering projects in tight timescales. A motivated self-starter with ability to learn new systems and processes fast. Ability to balance conflicting requirements and priorities, and to deliver within program constraints. Computer literacy.

Skills Preferred:
Experience of OEM design, release and quality systems preferred: AVBOM, WERS, EFDVS, Integrator. Some CAD experience.
Experience Required:
Design of components and test plans.
Experience Preferred:
Experience in design and release, or testing. Industry experience (design and manufacture) an advantage.
Education Required:
Degree in Engineering/Design
Education Preferred:
MEng/MSc an advantage.
