An Electrical CAD / Packaging Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Position Description:
Electrical CAD / Packaging Engineer

The Electrical Packaging group are responsible for leading & coordinating the computer aided design (CAD) & development of the Electrical Vehicle CAD Package; effectively engineering electrical components into compatible locations around the vehicle (e.g. audio, navigation, ECUs, sensors, & instrumentation equipment). This position does NOT include the CAD creation of harnesses. The area wishes to recruit a talented & enthusiastic mechanical CAD engineer, preferably with an interest in the latest electrical & electronic technologies; who is resourceful, self-motivated & able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Catia v5, specifically geometric shape design (GSD), DMU, part design & assembly design. Team Centre Engineering (TCe). Team Centre Visualisation MockUp (VisMockUp).

Skills Preferred:
Good communicator (written, graphical & verbal). Good presentation skills. Good interpersonal skills. Experienced in negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict. Deliver quality results with minimum supervision, in a flexible & dynamic team environment. Proven ability to work within strict timing constraints. High drive & self-motivated. Committed, flexible & able to work under pressure. Good leadership & influencing skills. Good PC skills (Microsoft Office applications). IT literate.

Details
Experience Required:
Extensive automotive product design (e.g. Electro-Mechanical, Body Engineering, BIW, Chassis, Trim, Mechanical etc.) or vehicle packaging experience. Extensive CAD experience, specifically geometry authoring, assembly generation & part / assembly maintenance.

Experience Preferred:
Bracket design experience in pressed metal (steel & aluminium) &/or plastic injection mouldings.

Education Required:
Engineering HNC or HND

Education Preferred:
Degree
