A Durability & Reliability Test Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Description
Our automotive client is a market leader in luxury and high volume off-road vehicles, designing and manufacturing in the Midlands.

Position Description:
Test/Project Engineer (Durability & Reliability Attribute). Vehicle Testing & Benchmarking. The position has the responsibility for the delivery of whole vehicle testing against specific procedures and the interpretation, reporting and technical follow up of test results found. The scope of the types of functional test range from water wading, structural driven (pothole brake) and climatic testing.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
A good knowledge of Automotive Technologies and testing methodology at a whole vehicle level. Planning, preparation and execution of vehicle test. The ability to follow procedures, interpret results, authoring of technical reports and follow up of test results. The ability to work within a proving ground environment demonstrating a minimum of IAD advanced driving skills. Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent communication. Good proficiency for working with MS office.

Skills Preferred:
MIRA and Millbrook track passes with advanced driving skills to support trailer towing and limit handling. Ability to use ASL & INCA software for electrical system and Powertrain fault diagnosis.

Details
Experience Required:
Familiarisation in working with prototype vehicles for the preparation and execution of tests in line with procedures and associated risk assessments. Experience in problem identification and the ability to root cause failure modes problem assessment against FMEA principle and test acceptance criteria. Experience in working to test procedures, interpretation of results against standards, authoring of technical reports and follow up of test results. Experience of working within a proving ground and climatic chamber environment for the delivery of functional vehicle testing ranging from climatic (Hot/Cold) to driven structural (special events) and short functional tests such as wading.

Education Required:
Minimum HND in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Education Preferred:
Honours degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
