We are recruiting for a Cooling Systems Analyst on a permanent basis in Peterborough.

As Cooling Systems Analyst you will be part of the European Cooling Systems team and is responsible for gathering the application requirements from the client product groups that are documented in a Design Goal Matrix. The analyst works with the design engineers to identify potential concept solutions and performs analysis using various energy management software tools. This may include 1-D analysis, CFD and Underhood Thermal Analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical guidance to engine and machine development teams regarding cooling system performance. A significant portion of this will be in the form of analysis including: under hood thermal and air flow CFD, water system flow and restriction, and cooling system and component thermal analysis.
* Predict performance of cooling components to select and size them for various applications.
* Participate in cooling test planning sessions and review test results to correlate analysis models and suggest design changes as needed to meet the performance goals.
* Perform analysis to assist CPI teams resolve cooling-related field problems
* Identify and deploy new tools or processes to further expand ACP's analysis capabilities

KEY COMPETENCIES:
* Strong thermal science (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer and component all types of heat exchangers, fans, etc.)
* Strong technical and analytical skills
* Demonstrated motivation and teamwork
* Clear verbal and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* MS in Mechanical Engineering or related science or engineering degree e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Physics, etc.) or BS with equivalent experience
* Significant experience using the energy management and simulation tools

Desirable:
* 1-D or 3-D cooling component or system analysis experience
* Experience with Kuli or Cool-1 and CFD tools such as Fluent
* Knowledge of diesel engine and machine cooling systems
* Knowledge of cooling component or system test procedures
* Analysis training experience
* Knowledge of Pro/E
* Project management skills
