A world leader in the agricultural and construction equipment businesses are now looking for an Area Sales Manager for the acquisition of new and used quality asset finance business, for the development and retention of strong customer and dealer relationships for the company. Customer relationships are forged either from introductions by Dealer Principals and Sales Personnel, or Manufacturers and Sales Personnel, or company s Commercial Operations and the company s Field Force.

Basic Function: Reporting to the Country Retail Finance Sales Manager, for the acquisition of new & used quality asset finance business, for the development and retention of strong customer and dealer relationships for the company. Customer relationships are forged either from introductions by Dealer Principals and Sales Personnel, or Manufacturers and Sales Personnel, or company’s Commercial Operations and the company’s  Field Force.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve a high level of sales success by developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of new and existing dealers and customers
  • Build quality relationships  at all levels and establish the company as the dealer’s and customer’s first choice business partner
  • Develop and train a selected group of the company’s dealers to be proficient in dealer signed business and become their first line for retail finance.
  • Achieve targets set in relation to volume, margin, period, fee income, insurance sales ( where applicable), deal numbers, captive, used and allied business, D.G.M., sales penetration
  • Negotiate with customers and dealers on specific transactions and aim to deliver what is ‘right’ for the customer and the company
  • Prepare business proposals which fully meet the credit policies of the Company
  • Be aware of and understand the impact of economic, political and legislative change on the Company’s business
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s products
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues in other Company departments to ensure that service standards to dealers and customers are industry leading
  • Ensure that all of the required business related reports are completed, punctually, and accurately.
  • Use current and future business reporting to increase customer service and business efficiency.
  • Competently use Microsoft Office software and maximise the use of such features as diary, follow up and data analysis capabilities of the system
  • Work as an integral part of the sales team to deliver both individual and team business targets
  • Play an active role within the company to ensure that new ideas are cultivated and best practice is established

Embrace, develop and maximize a "one team approach" with dealers, brands and internal colleagues on a consistent basis.

Job requirements and qualifications:

Proven track record in achieving sales targets within  a complex business environment

Must have successful experience of delivering front-line sales particularly in the provision of Asset Finance

Ability to use Microsoft Office software applications or similar packages

Knowledge of the Agricultural and/or Construction Finance Market will be of advantage

Previous experience in the captive vendor finance environment

The ability to understand, embrace and implement change in a dynamic business environment

A complete understanding of the industrial supply chain and the requirements of each component part
