Our client is a leading automotive component manufacturer. Working within the Accounts Department, as Management Accountant, your responsibility will be to maintain the Product Standard Costs, Inventory Valuation, Variance Analysis and assist in the management accounts preparation. You will also be supporting the development of a costing and reporting framework and metrics to facilitate the communication of variances and management of product operating costs. You will be expected to go onto a shift pattern in line with departmental needs and an integral requirement of the position is to work overtime when needed, sometimes at short notice, in order to support department objectives, responsibilities and workloads.
You will be responsible for safety and environment, Quality, Cost and Delivery. To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate practical and theoretical competence, combined with the agility of being able to have a good appreciation of the existing processes. This will include thorough understanding of maintaining Standard Costs and Inventory Valuations, Variance Analysis Investigation and Resolution, including Bills Of Materials ( BOM s ) and Operational Routings - this will involve the analysis and monitoring of inventory levels and advising management on implications to the business. You will also undertake cost roll-up calculations which support the finance department in being able to provide the most current bill of material structure and component costs across its business. In addition, you will be responsible for overhead Rate calculations which support the company allocating the correct overheads where appropriate.
You must have demonstrable experience gained in a previous Management Accounting role, supported by relevant formal qualifications; demonstrable practical experience of Variance analysis and resolution, cost roll up calculations, Overhead Cost Rate, Calculations, Bills Of Material and Routing and experience with production schedules and stock levels including Project costing and financial metrics. You will need strong MS Excel experience and proficiency in the use of lookups, pivot tables and creating formulas-this is required to assist with manipulation and handling large data file management and manipulation. You will be customer orientated, a self-starter with extensive knowledge of modern lean manufacturing techniques and their application in a supply chain environment and be able to demonstrate, by providing examples of relevant practical examples of dealing with an ERP system. Working on an individual basis will require initiative, motivation and self management, as well as the ability to plan your activities. You must have a dynamic attitude with an eye for cost-reduction and efficiency.
