Mechanical Package Engineer

Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.

We require 2x Mechanical Package Engineers on a 6-month contract based in Warwick.

As Mechanical Package Engineer, the main activities of the role include:
* Identification of under-bonnet and under-body mechanical package issues through physical vehicle and DMU review.
* Coordination and leadership of multiple cross-functional teams and Package Engineers to resolve issues identified and ensure mechanical package robustness throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
* Leadership of issues management process and coordination.
* Leadership of regular mechanical package meetings
* Support implementation of knowledge based toolsets for mechanical package development.

It is essential for applicants to have the following experience and skills:
* Proficiency in Vismockup or similar DMU package
* Proficiency in Catia V5 and Pro E
* Experience in PLM usage / implementation.
* Usage of mechanical package tools and methods

Applicants must have the following core requirements of the role, they include:
* Degree qualified or similar qualification
* Strong numeracy and literacy
* A minimum of five years automotive experience is essential
* Good logical reasoning
* Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical speciality.
* Evidence of achieving results through effective leadership
* Firm understanding of interactions between mechanical package and other vehicle attributes.
