Project Engineer - Solid State Physics/ Defence, Essex to £23k

A Project Engineer is required to work on cutting edge projects in the Electro-Optics and Solid State Physics arena for this growing Defence organisation. You will be a recent graduate in Physics (BSc or MSc) with a minimum of 2:1 Honours from a Redbrick University with strong course content in Solid State Physics, Electro-Optics, Semiconductors or Sensors with a relevant project or placement. You will work on a project from concept to completion, interfacing with customers and solving hands-on technical problems. This role is commutable from Basildon, Chelmsford, Bishop's Stortford and Harlow.

You will require the following experience:

- BSc or higher qualification in Physics (2:1 Hons or higher)
- Understanding of Solid State Physics
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure

A good project covering Imaging Sensors, Electro Optic Sensors or Semiconductor-based technology would be preferred. You must be eligible to obtain high level UK Security Clearance to be considered for this role. This is an urgent requirement paying up to £23,000 pa starting salary for a Physics graduate who has completed their studies in 2012 or 2011 and is looking for a company with excellent career prospects and plenty of technical challenge.
